From November 2012 to February 2013, I picked approximately a quarter of a million oranges in the sweltering 45+ degree South Australian river land. I previously described the whole experience and gave guidance on the working holiday visa system, but today I thought I’d present the romantic side of fruit picking. Being a slave to a traditional lifestyle of manual labour is a life immersed in nature, surrounded by vibrant colours, rugged landscapes and breathtaking sunrises.
